There’s something about trees. These magnificent bringers of life and shade, cherry blossoms and maple leafs, bring us warmth, provide shelter and on and on and on. For us, trees are central to everything we do. It’s why there’s an outsized tree smack in the middle of our logo to make the “I” in Campfire. We could talk forever about our favorite species and what trees make great coffee roasting fires but this roast isn’t about that. It’s completely about trees here in our home city of Tacoma, Washington and their incredible benefits to our everyday life.

There’s a little story about the city we love we want to help change for the betterment of everyone living here: That story says, Tacoma has some of the lowest tree coverage of any city in our state. As the 3rd largest city in Washington, that means that there are a lot of neighborhoods, mostly lower income, racially and ethnically diverse neighborhoods, without tree cover. And y’all know Campfire wants more people in the trees!

Tacoma Tree Foundation is on a mission to change that and we want to help. Quite honestly, it’s two-fold for us. We want Tacomans to enjoy the tree cover that virtually every other city in our region enjoys and also it’s a great way for us to continue to give back to the earth that gives so plentiful to us. When we say “Campfire Roasted” in means wood sourced from right here in our region is used to roast the coffee you enjoy.
